COLLEGE CAREER: Appeared in 48 games, including 38 starts, at San Jose State (2004-2008)... Switched from defensive end to defensive tackle halfway through his junior year... Started 14 games at right defensive end, 12 at left defensive tackle, 10 at left defensive end and two at right defensive tackle... San Jose State’s all-time leader in sacks (22.5), which ranks fifth all-time in Western Athletic Conference history... Also set a school record with 42 TFLs, finishing sixth on the WAC’s all-time list... Posted 145 tackles (87 solo), 3 forced fumbles and 15 PBUs... First team All-American in 2008... Two-time all-WAC performer and the conference’s co-Defensive Player of the Year as a senior... Participated in the East-West Shrine Game following his senior season.
HOW ACQUIRED: Entered NFL as a third-round selection (68th overall) by Chicago in the 2009 NFL Draft.
