PRO CAREER: Developing offensive guard who spent rookie season on Bears practice squad after being drafted by Chicago in the sixth-round (200th overall) in the 2006 NFL Draft.
HOW ACQUIRED: Entered NFL as a sixth-round selection (200th overall) by Chicago in the 2006 Draft.
PERSONAL NOTES: Four-year letterwinner during career at Penn State (2001-05) who appeared in 41 career games, starting at right guard in 30 of his final 35 games… Played major role in helping Nittany Lions offense double their scoring output from 2004 to 2005 while increasing their total offense in Big Ten games by 172.3 ypg… Played all 14 games as a senior, starting the final 11 at RG and recording the 3rd-most snaps among offensive players… Member of O-line that allowed just 14 sacks to rank 3rd in the conference and aided the ground game as Penn State finished 2nd in the league in rushing offense (212.8 ypg)… Started 9 of 11 games he appeared in during junior year posting the 2nd-highest snap count among offensive linemen… Earned starting job prior to third game of sophomore season and started the remaining 10 games, recording the 5th-most snaps of all offensive players and helped PSU rush for over 225 yards on 3 occasions… Worked his way up the depth chart to No. 2 right guard as a red-shirt freshman and played in 4 contests… Graduated with a degree in recreation, park and tourism management.
