PRO CAREER: In his first season with the Bears, the 2006 acquisition set a career high, tied for the team lead and tied for 10th in the NFL with 5 INTs… Has played in 63 regular-season games, starting 32, and 10 postseason contests, starting 5, during his previous 4 seasons… Tied for 2nd with Mike Brown and Charles Tillman among active Bears in career INTs with 14 (Nathan Vasher, 16)… His 5 career postseason INTs ranks 3rd among active NFL players (Ty Law and Rodney Harrison, 6)… Has totaled career numbers of 241 tackles, 22 PBUs, 2 sacks, 4 fumble recoveries, 3 forced fumbles and 29 special teams tackles… Owns 3 career defensive TDs, including 1 with the Bears... Has made 2 Super Bowl appearances (XXXVIII with Carolina and XLI with Chicago) in first 4 NFL seasons… Became first Bears defensive back since Jerry Azumah (12/30/01) to record 2 sacks in one game (12/17/06 vs. TB)… Notched NFL-best 4 INTs during the 2003 playoffs, the 2nd-most postseason picks ever by a rookie (Vernon Perry, HOU, 5 in 1979)… Tied NFC Championship Game record on 1/18/04 at PHI with 3 INTs becoming just the second player to accomplish the feat (Joe Laws, GB, 1944)… Earned NFL Defensive Player-of-the-Week award following both the Divisional Playoff and Conference Championship rounds during 2003 postseason becoming the first player since 1995 (Antonio Freeman, GB) to win player of the week accolades in successive weeks… Recorded first postseason INT in OT at St. Louis (1/10/04) on Panthers 35-yard line to prevent Rams winning score and gave possession to Carolina for its game-winning drive.

PERSONAL NOTES: Finished high school football career with over 6,460 passing yards at Edison H.S. in Fresno, CA, adding 67 passing TDs, 37 rushing TDs and 7 punt returns for TDs… Became just fourth player in California state history to account for more than 100 TDs… As a senior, totaled 89 tackles with 5 INTs, returned 3 punts for TDs, passed for 2,834 yards and tossed 30 TD passes… Founded the Manning Educational Foundation, which provides underprivileged youth with special education programs and activities and is currently focused on Manning's hometown, Fresno, CA… Joined Red Cross for the Carolina Athletes Relief Effort in September of 2003 and raised money for the victims of Hurricane Isabel by signing autographs… Drafted by the Minnesota Twins in the 22nd round and played 3 summers of minor league baseball… Played centerfield and left field and totaled more than 100 stolen bases in his career… He and wife Tosha have a son, Ricky III.
