| PRO CAREER: Has started at both safety positions during first two seasons as a pro, while his 5 INTs leads all Bears safeties and is tied for 3rd overall on the team during that span… Switched to strong safety midway through second season and started final 5 regular season games and all 3 postseason contests at that position after starting first 2 games of the season at free safety… INT in Super Bowl XLI was the first by a Bears safety in the postseason since Mark Carrier vs. NO (1/6/91)… Has recorded 124 career tackles, including 1 sack and 4 TFLs, and 10 PBUs in 25 regular season games adding 1 fumble recovery and 9 tackles on special teams… His 124 tackles are the second-most tackles in the Bears secondary during his first 2 seasons (Charles Tillman, 192)… Has 31 tackles in 4 postseason contests, all starts, with 1 PBU and 1 INT… Stepped into the starting lineup in the second week of his rookie season en route to starting 13 of 14 games played at FS… Recorded 3 INTs in 2005, most by a Bears safety since Mike Brown picked off 3 in 2002 and most by a Chicago rookie safety since Carrier snagged a league-high 10 INTs in 1990.

Fair H.S. in Little Rock, Ark., playing football for coach Randy Rutherford… Only played 1 year of football after being in the band his first 3 years of high school… Turned down a band scholarship to play football in college… Had 106 tackles, 65 solos, 2 INTs and 2 forced fumbles as a senior to earn places on the all-metro and all-academic teams…Played safety and tight end on a 10-3 championship team… Son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles B. Harris, both retired educators… Born in Little Rock, Arkansas… One of several NFL players to travel with the USO in Spring of 2006 to visit American military personnel stationed in Afghanistan, making a similar trip to Iraq with teammate Israel Idonije in Spring of 2007.
