PRO CAREER: Made immediate impact as fifth-round draft pick by equaling fourth-highest sack total recorded by an NFL rookie since 1982 with 12.0, the most ever by a Bears rookie… Finished second in NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year voting after recording the most sacks by an NFL rookie drafted in the 5th round or later since 1982… First Bears rookie to lead team in sacks since Brian Urlacher (8) in 2000…Named to PFW/PFWA All-Rookie team… Combined with Alex Brown for 19 sacks in 2006, the most by a Chicago DE duo since Richard Dent and Trace Armstrong recorded 24 sacks in 1993… Has recorded 4 multiple-sack games in 16 career regular season games played… Registered 0.5 sack in Super Bowl XLI and 1.5 sacks among 4 tackles in 3 postseason contests… Earned NFL Defensive Rookie of the Month in October of 2006.
