| Three-year starter at DE has started 48 consecutive games, 2nd-most on the team (Olin Kreutz, 54) and most by a defensive player. One of just eight defensive ends in the NFL that has started every game since 2003. Recorded 20 career sacks, second-most on the defensive line (Adewale Ogunleye, 40) and his 17.5 sacks over the last three seasons are the most by a Bear since Philip Daniels (19.5, 2000-02). Only Bear on roster to have registered at least 5.5 sacks in each of previous three seasons. Tallied 227 tackles over last three campaigns as a full-time starter, tops on the D-line and 4th on team (Brian Urlacher, Lance Briggs, Charles Tillman). His 227 tackles since 2003 are the most by a Bears D-lineman during a three-season stretch since Mike Wells (246, 1998-2000). Has ranked in the top-10 on the Bears in tackles in every season since entering the NFL in 2002 - only other Bear to rank in top-10 in tackles in each of last four seasons is Urlacher. Named first-alternate for the 2006 Pro Bowl after stellar season when he ranked 6th on team in tackles (75), T-2nd in sacks (6), 2nd in TFLs (9) and 4th on team in PBUs (8). Two-time NFC Defensive Player of the Week earning selection in 2004 and 2005. Career-high 4-sack effort at NYG in 2004 marked his first P.O.W. award. Paced team in sacks in 2003 while recording a career-high 79 tackles. Led all NFC rookies in 2002 by being involved in six turnovers (three forced and three recovered fumbles) while tying for 4th in NFL in fumble recoveries, the most by a Bears rookie since 1971 (T. McGee, four). |
