How
Acquired: Agreed to terms with the Patriots, week of 4/04/2005 Scouting
Report: He never lived up to being selected no.8 overall in the 2001 NFL
Draft. Terrell has terrific size and ability but could never take that potential
to the field at the professional level. While he'll never be considered as a speed
receiver, he's above average in that area and he also has decent hands. The
negatives are well documented. He's not a great route runner, has concentration
lapses, and has had off the field issues which shows that he has a lack of discipline.
Terrell has too much upside to pass up but he hasn't shown that he can be a starter
at this point of his career. Bringing him off of the bench where he has to earn
his playing time is the smartest move by a potential suitor. Pro Experience:
Chicago Bears (2001-2004) Spirited competitor has demonstrated
big-play abilities at wide receiver while making the most of his opportunities
during his first two seasons with Chicago… Second among all Bears receivers
with seven touchdown catches over that span… Ended rookie campaign ranked
among the most productive receivers from the 2001 Draft with 34 receptions for
415 yards and four TDs, standing among Chicago's top three in all categories…
Originally drafted in the first round (eighth overall) by Chicago in 2001. College
Experience:
Michigan First-team USA Today All-America selection
and tabbed as nation’s best receiver in high school by Prep Football Report
… Three year all-state selection … Had 108 receptions for 2,546 yards
and 41 TDs while intercepting 30 passes during his career … Four-year letterwinner
in basketball and all-district selection, averaging 20 points, 12 rebounds and
two assists per game as a senior.
Contract Status: Agreed to
