Biography:
Mike Brown holds franchise record with 5 career defensive TDs (3 INT returns, 2 fumble returns), ranks as Chicago's active career leader with 11 INTs and is team's second-leading tackler during his 5 years in the NFL... Tops franchise list for career fumble return yards with 218 on 5 fumble recoveries including TD returns of 62 and 95 yards... Had played in every game of career while starting all but 1 at FS until sustaining a season-ending Achilles injury at GB in 2004, snapping string of 66 consecutive games played with 21 straight starts. Selected in the second-round (39th overall) by Chicago in the 2000.

2004: Started first 2 games of the year before an Achilles injury ended his season, totaling 10 tackles, 1 PBU and 1 fumble recovery for a TD& Established new team record with fifth career defensive TD, breaking tie with Bennie McRae (4). Before leaving game late in fourth quarter with an Achilles injury; his 95-yard fumble return for TD off fumble forced by Brian Urlacher was the second-longest in team history behind George Halas' 98-yard fumble return against the Oorang Indians at Wrigley Field on 11/4/23.

2003: Started all 16 games at FS and tied for 3rd on Bears with 2 INTs while ranking 3rd among Chicago's secondary with 81 tackles, tying for 4th overall.

2002: Intercepted team-high 3 passes and ranked 3rd on team with 111 tackles while starting 15-of-16 games played at FS. Led team with 6 PBUs. Missed preseason with broken right hand suffered in training camp.

2001: Earned first-team All-Pro honors from the Associated Press and Football Digest while leading Chicago with a career-high 5 INTs and starting all 16 games, plus his first career playoff start. Bears honoree for the NFLPA's Unsung Hero Award. Tied for 10th in NFC in INTs, tying for the NFL lead with 2 INT returns for TD. Ranked 2nd on Bears secondary with 86 tackles and 2nd with 8 PDs. Returned INT 33 yards for TD in OT vs. SF (10/28) to complete Bears comeback with quickest OT decision in NFL history (16 seconds). Duplicated game-winning heroics with 16-yard INT return for TD in OT to finish comeback vs. CLE (11/4). Named NFC Defensive Player-of-the-Week after leading secondary with 9 tackles, including 2 sacks, vs. DET (12/2).

2000: Made immediate impact at FS for the Bears as the team's only rookie starter on Opening Day. Started all 16 games en route to ranking 2nd on the team with 102 total tackles and being named All-Rookie first team by Pro Football Weekly, Football News and Football Digest.

COLLEGE: Three-year starter at Nebraska (1996-99) who became third player in Husker history to lead team in tackles 3 straight seasons. Finished career as school's second-leading all-time tackler and 9th with 9 INTs. Started every game as a senior and led team with 96 tackles while adding 2 sacks, 8 TFLs, 5 INTs and 5 PBUs while recovering 1 fumble and forcing 6. As a junior, set school single-season record for tackles by a DB with career-high 102. Moved from LCB to rover in preseason of sophomore year before leading team with 77 tackles. Played CB as freshman before playing both safety positions in final 3 seasons. Majored in business administration carrying a 3.2 grade point average.

PERSONAL: Named top DB in country by SuperPrep coming out of Saguaro H.S. in Scottsdale, Ariz., where he was also a top-flight RB. Rushed for 2,036 yards (9.6 avg.) and 31 TDs as a senior. Wife is Erin.
