| Terry Shea, who brings 35 years of offensive coaching experience to Chicago, joins the Bears after three seasons as the Kansas City Chiefs quarterbacks coach, mentoring AFC Pro Bowl QB Trent Green.
Shea comes from the offensive school of Pro Football Hall of Fame coach Bill Walsh. The two coached together at Stanford (1992-94) where Shea was the offensive coordinator and associate head coach, winning a Pac-10 title with the Cardinal in 1993 for the first time since 1971 and recording 10 wins in a season for the first time since 1940.
While with the Chiefs, Kansas City QBs completed over 61 percent of their passes over the past two seasons, breaking the previous franchise single-season record in 2002 (292 of 477, 61.2%) which had stood since 1962, then surpassed that mark in 2003, completing 63.2 percent of their passes (339 of 536).
The former collegiate quarterback from Oregon (1965-67) has been instrumental in the tutelage of several QBs who have been productive in the NFL including San Francisco's three-time Pro Bowl QB Jeff Garcia while at San Jose State (1990-91) and Detroit's Mike McMahon who played for Shea at Rutgers.
Shea played quarterback at the University of Oregon (1965-67) and, following his graduation, began his coaching career as a graduate assistant (1968-69) for the Ducks.
