Comments: Cleveland got as much as they could in return for Edwards, who wasn't going to be re-signed most likely. Stuckey is a slot receiver and Trusnik is a very good special teams player. Rookie WR Mohamed Massaquoi now becomes the Browns' top passing option.

Comments: The Jets finally got some badly needed help at receiver opposite veteran Jerricho Cotchery. Edwards has excellent size and runs well, but hasn't played well since his breakout season in 2007. He has inconsistent hands and hasn't proven that he's the same player from two years ago. He seems to have been playing with a lack of concentration, but the change of scenery may help him.


Oakland Raiders

Wednesday: Signed RB Gary Russell.

Comments: It will take Crabtree a while to get in game shape considering he missed all of training camp. So the expectations for him for this season shouldn't be very high. In time, he'll give them a badly needed addition to an average passing game.

Comments: The Buccaneers guaranteed Nugent's one-year deal at $2 million once he was on the 53-man roster past week one. They also paid him his signing bonus of $400,000 already. So, Nugent will still make $2.4 million this season from Tampa Bay even if he doesn't sign with another team until next season.
