Out of hibernation
Marty Booker

Posted Feb 3, 2003

Marty Booker was involved in a scoring play during Sunday’s Pro Bowl, but unfortunately it was for the AFC, who trounced the NFC 45-20.

In the fourth quarter Tampa’s Brad Johnson attempted to throw to Booker, but New England’s Ty Law intercepted the pass and returned it for a touchdown.

The AFC jumped out to an early lead on a Ricky Williams touchdown run and never looked back. The Dolphins running back rushed for 56 yards, two touchdowns and forced a fumble in route to being named the game’s MVP.

Each of the AFC's players earned $30,000 for the win, with the NFC's stars receiving $15,000 apiece.

The three Bears in the game went relatively unnoticed. In his first Pro Bowl appearance Booker finished with two receptions for 19 yards. Brian Urlacher and Olin Kreutz started the game at their respective positions. Urlacher had three tackles in his third consecutive trip to Hawaii, while Kreutz, a native of Honolulu, made his second straight all-star team in front of the hometown crowd.
