With the 21st pick in Round 4, the Chicago Bears selected Louisiana State safety Craig Steltz. According to Scout.com, Steltz is the No. 9 player available at his position. Here is a scouting report on Steltz with all the highlights you need to know about the newest Midway Monster.

S Craig Steltz – Louisiana State

The numbers: 6-2, 213 pounds, 4.59 seconds in the 40-yard dash.

The skinny: Yet another SEC competitor, Steltz is known as a big hitter in the open field and reads the quarterback's eyes quite well in coverage. He won't be fast or athletic enough to run stride for stride with NFL receivers, but he's a smart and instinctive player who doesn't mind laying the wood in run support.

The analysis: Since Adam Archuleta was nothing short of awful this past season after coming over in a trade with Washington, the selection of Steltz signals a potential change at the strong safety position. Brandon McGowan and Kevin Payne will be in the mix to start, but Steltz can add some depth and should be a factor right away on special teams.
