John Crist: A below-the-radar free agent in Chicago is Brendon Ayanbadejo. Not much of a linebacker, but he's sensational on special-teams. He wants $3 million a year as a special-teamer. Is that money out there? Is he crazy? Is he going to get paid that much?
John Clayton: No. He will not get paid that much. He would have to get some kind of a deal that is going to be minimum salary with a big signing bonus for a multi-year deal, or just do a minimum-salary deal. Ayanbadejo is a great special-teams player, and I know the fact that he came to Chicago in a trade and they want him to stay there ... I still think they can get something done. But $3 million a year? That's just, unfortunately, not going to happen.
