Re-signing Scott Not a Top Priority

Scott totaled 23 tackles for the Bears this season

Nobody doubts that Ian Scott is a good football player. Stout against the run and adept at knocking down passes at the line of scrimmage, he will certainly get a nice offer as an unrestricted free agent this offseason. However, with the continued development of Tank Johnson and Dusty Dvoracek coming back from injured reserve, that offer may not come from the Bears.

The Bears rotate defensive linemen as much as any team in the NFL in Lovie Smith's cover-two system. Since Ian Scott is a defensive tackle and a decent one at that, one might think that bringing back the free-agent-to-be would be a priority for the Chicago Bears this offseason.
