Losing Berrian early was a big loss for the Bears
Losing Berrian early was a big loss for the Bears

Bears fans may be fleeing for the hills in droves, but the fact remains that the Monsters of the Midway are 7-1 and control their own destiny for home-field advantage throughout the NFC playoffs. Sure, the Miami game was a wake-up call on many levels, but one loss in November won't make or break this team. 405134 realizes this and wins the Bear Report Message Board Post of the Week.

I've been gone a few days, so I didn't get a chance to read through the posts on this forum until last night. What I see are a bunch of bandwagon-jumpers jumping off. Jumping off Rex Grossman. Jumping off Devin Hester. Jumping off the offensive line. Jumping off the entire team.

The Bears lost a game. ONE game. No one with any sense thought that they were going to go undefeated. Who cares if they go undefeated? All I care about is that they get to the Super Bowl and win. Grossman has had two bad games out of three, but he has had five very good games out of seven. He is still experiencing the growing pains of playing in the NFL, and I also think he is a little paranoid about getting hurt. Who can blame him for that?

Mike Brown was a huge loss. Bernard Berrian was a huge loss. But the thing that worries me about the Dolphins game was the turnovers and the play of the O-line. The OL played poorly, and I am wondering if their age is catching up to them as the season goes on. I mean three of those guys (Ruben Brown, Fred Miller and John Tait) aren't exactly in the sunrise of their careers. Maybe they are breaking down physically?

As for Justin Gage ... why does he play?

Hester I am hoping had a bad game because the punter was left-footed, and he had a hard time adjusting. I know that is a weak excuse, but the guy has been a huge part in the success of this team this year, and I am not going to crucify him for one bad game.

Anyway, I hope all of you that jumped off the bandwagon stay off. I liked the ride a lot better when the wagon was full people that don't act like yo-yos.
