The worth of the contract is reportedly $2.025 million with a signing bonus of signing of $415,000.
“It feels good man,” Williams told Scout.com. “It’s great to have such a weight lifted off my shoulders. I did expect it to happen this early and it’s just a part of a perfect situation I’m in. I like the terms of the deal…I’m pretty happy with everything about the Bears so far (smile).

Aside from the draft’s top overall choice DE Mario Williams from the Houston Texans, the Bears’ Williams becomes the second highest draft pick (120th overall) to a sign a deal. He joins defensive end Mark Anderson, fullback J.D. Runnels and guard Tyler Reed as draft picks who have agreed to terms.
A three-year starter at Arizona State, Williams totaled 256 tackles, 25 for loss, 6 sacks, 8 interceptions, 3 fumble recoveries and 4 forced fumbles in 48 games for the Sun Devils.
Depending on how things materialize with Briggs, Williams could become a starter in Chicago as soon as next season. As a rookie, the six-foot, 236-pounder is expected to add depth and versatility at linebacker. He’s athletic enough to be able to play inside or out side.
For the time being, Williams is concentrating on understanding the defense.
“I already feel my skills developing, and with my work ethic I know I will grow so much more and the Bears will give me the chance to do it,” Williams said. “I feel that I’m doing really well knowing the defense and executing my assignments.”
The remaining selections yet to sign are second-round picks S Danieal Manning (42nd overall) and CB Devin Hester (57th overall) and third-round selection DT Dusty Dvoracek (73rd overall). All three players are expected to have deals by the time players report to training camp on July 26 and Hester could agree to terms as soon as today.
