NFL Free Agents: Defensive Tackles

A year ago, the Bears spent their first two draft picks to upgrade the talent at defensive tackle. While it's unlikely the team will go after a DT in free agency, here's a list of the players scheduled to hit the market at that position, along with comments for the unrestricted players.

Tommie Harris started 16 games as a rookie and could contend for a Pro Bowl spot in '05. Ian Scott became the most improved player on the roster from the beginning of the season to the end. He's the projected starter heading into next season with more expected out of Tank Johnson. Alfonso Boone is a reliable run stuffer and Israel Idonije is valuable as both a backup tackle and end.
