Bears re-sign CB Kelvin Hayden

The Chicago Bears have re-signed veteran nickelback Kelvin Hayden to a one-year contract.

LAKE FOREST, IL – The Chicago Bears have signed CB Kelvin Hayden to a one-year contract.

The 6-0, 195-pound Hayden has started 49 of 101 games played for Indianapolis (2005-10), Atlanta (2011) and Chicago (2012-13) after entering the NFL as a second round pick (60th overall) of the Colts in the 2005 NFL Draft. He has totaled 345 tackles, 12 interceptions, three return touchdowns, 44 pass deflections, four forced fumbles and six fumble recoveries over his nine-year career.

He missed the entire 2013 regular season after being placed on injured reserve due to a hamstring injury suffered during training camp.

In 2012, Hayden tied for the NFL lead with four opponent fumble recoveries. He started two of 16 games played for Chicago, recording 40 tackles (26 solo), one interception and three pass deflections. He was also credited with 3 special teams stops.
