LAKE FOREST, IL – The Chicago Bears signed C Taylor Boggs and S Derrick Martin to one-year contracts.
The 6-3, 285-pound Boggs appeared in one contest during the 2013 season for the Bears, the first of his three-year NFL career. Boggs spent the prior two seasons with the Jets after joining New York as an undrafted free agent out of Humboldt State in 2011.
Martin saw action in seven contests for Chicago this season, recording six special teams tackles and one defensive stop. The 5-10, 198-pound University of Wyoming product appeared in 73 games with four starts during his eight-year NFL career with Baltimore (2006-08), Green Bay (2009-10), the New York Giants (2011), New England (2012) and Chicago (2013), collecting 66 special teams tackles, 38 defensive stops, three interceptions, eight pass break ups, one sack and one fumble recovery.
