LAKE FOREST, IL – The Chicago Bears signed LB Larry Grant and QB Jordan Palmer to the active roster, waived TE Steve Maneri, waived CB C.J. Wilson and signed him to the practice squad after he cleared waivers, signed WR Terrence Toliver to the practice squad and terminated the practice squad contract of WR Ricardo Lockette.
The 6-1, 251-pound Grant has appeared in 66 games with 11 starts over five seasons with St. Louis (2008-10) and San Francisco (2011-12), collecting 64 tackles, five sacks, four forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, five pass break ups and 29 special teams stops.
Palmer appeared in four contests for Cincinnati during three seasons (2008-10) with the Bengals, completing 10-of-15 passing attempts for 49 yards and two interceptions. The 6-5, 230-pound Palmer was originally selected by the Washington Redskins in the sixth round (205th overall) in the 2007 NFL Draft out of UTEP. Palmer spent part of the 2012 season with Jacksonville but did not appear in a game for the Jaguars. During the 2013 preseason for Chicago, Palmer completed 12-of-18 pass attempts for 116 yards and a touchdown for a 103.0 passer rating.
Maneri appeared in four games with one start for the Bears this season but did not record a reception. He has appeared in 23 games with 10 starts during his NFL career, catching six passes for 52 yards.
Wilson has appeared in two games for the Bears this season, playing mostly on special teams.
Toliver has spent time with Houston, Detroit, Chicago and San Diego during his NFL career but has not appeared in a regular season NFL game. The 6-5, 204-pound receiver had seven receptions for 63 yards during the 2013 preseason with the Bears.
Lockette was on the Bears practice squad the first seven weeks of the season. He has appeared in two games during his NFL career, recording two receptions for 105 yards and a touchdown.
