Webb arrested on drug charges

Chicago Bears offensive tackle J'Marcus Webb was arrested in Pulaski County, IL Sunday night on a possession of marijuana charge.

Sunday night, Chicago Bears left tackle J'Marcus Webb was stopped by police in Pulaski County, Ill. and subsequently arrested, according to KFVS.

Pulaski County Sheriff Randy Kern says a deputy arrested Webb on Sunday evening and charged him with possession of a controlled substance, cannabis and paraphernalia. Webb paid $500 of a $5,000 bond and was released the next day.

The Bears released the following statement:

"We are aware of the recent arrest of J'Marcus Webb in Pulaski County, Illinois. We are currently gathering information to learn more about the circumstances surrounding the arrest."

This is bad news for Webb, who was just starting to develop into a somewhat dependable left tackle. It's unclear whether the Bears will fire Webb for this but it will surely put him on shaky terms with Marc Trestman and the new coaching staff.

We'll update this story as more information is made available.
