Chicago Bears safety Chris Harris is requesting a trade after being benched for Sunday's game against the Minnesota Vikings.
Harris' agent, Albert Elias, says the Bears have granted him permission to seek a deal. He says Harris wants "to help somebody win."
He didn't have any concrete offers by midday Monday because he had just received the OK from Chicago. He says there won't be a trade unless it's "a win-win for (general manager Jerry Angelo) and Chris."
Harris, in his second stint with the Bears, was inactive for Chicago's 39-10 victory over the Vikings after struggling in a loss at Detroit last week. Before that, he missed three games with a hamstring injury.
