Posted May 12, 2003

Two players in NFL Europe are taking advantage of the opportunity to showcase their talent and will be given a shot to make the Bears 53-man roster.

For the second time this season RB Maurice Hicks hit the century mark for the Scottish Claymores including a 58-yard touchdown run against Frankfurt. Hicks will have to prove he can catch the ball in order to make the team. He spent the 2002 season on the Physically Unable to Perform list.

Edell Shepherd, who could compete for a receiver spot, continued his solid campaign with three more receptions for 91 yards.

QB Henry Burris of the Berlin Thunder completed 7 of 9 passes for 72 yards, while his teammates DB Travis Coleman, C Josh Warner and TE Bryan Fletcher all started. DT Curry Dawson and TE Bryan Fletcher saw time for the Thunder.

FB Tyree Foreman, F.C. Barcelona Dragons, saw action versus Berlin. CB Teddy Gaines, Rhein Fire, started recording four tackles and a pass defensed against Amsterdam. G Shane Grice, F.C. Barcelona Dragons, started against Berlin. G/T Jeff Grzeskowiak, Amsterdam Admirals, started versus Rhein. DE Roshaun Matthews, Berlin Thunder, did not play due to injury. WR Elijah Thurmon, Berlin Thunder, caught three passes including four-yard touchdown reception.
